Heritage Homestead is a real working homestead in Berkeley County, WV. We started 14 years ago on a 1/4 of an acre. We now own a 9 acre farm. We have raised dairy cows, beef cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, ducks, geese, bees, and rabbits. We are also growing a permaculture food forest with fruit trees, nuts, berries, grapes, herbs, and gardens. We don’t use any pesticides or herbicides. We believe in growing the way God grows in the wild. 

 

We started with a passion for clean, local foods, but then we started fostering and became parents through adoption and our vision grew as did our family. We adopted two sons! A year later we welcomed our third son, who was born at home! Three years after that we adopted our daughter and son from Ukraine! We now have five amazing children and what started as a passion for local, clean food has turned into a family owned and operated business that offers a safe haven for my children to grow, and heal in.

They are why we are Heritage Homestead. It’s about them, their future, and what we can offer our community as a family. We want to show our community the love and healing that can take place in a family. We also want to bring you clean, healthy foods! With treats 😉 because everyone needs a treat every once in a while! 

 

We had the farm, we had faith, we had our kiddos, and we had a freeze dryer! The inflation started making everything from hay, animal feed, to groceries escalate, rapidly! So we worked with what we had and started Heritage Homestead Freeze Dried Treats, LLC. We love bringing you freeze dried ice cream, cheesecake, apples, strawberries, mangos, bananas, peaches, and pickles! It brings us joy offering a variety of fun products that you enjoy, and so do we! We’ve grown a lot in a year and now have a second freeze dryer. Lena is now working for us. We are stocked in 18 stores and have been in two subscription boxes! We are always challenging ourselves to grow and listening to feedback to bring you treats that you will love time and time again!
